Katrina Skinner MD, FAAP

Dr. Katrina Skinner is a native of Fairhope, Alabama, the beautiful coastal town she chose as the site to open her independent pediatric practice right after finishing residency at University of Florida – Sacred Heart. She loves watching her hometown families grow and enjoys the challenges of a growing practice.

Starting with just 2 employees and 12 patients on her first day in 2009, her office now employs another full-time pediatrician, two mid-level providers, a practice administrator, and eleven support staff who help care for over 5000 patients.

As president of the Alabama Chapter of the AAP, Dr. Skinner advocates for children and pediatricians at the local, state, and national levels. She enjoys speaking to other pediatricians at events across the nation about ways to provide high-quality care while streamlining office efficiency and improving work-life balance. She is also the founder of Women in Pediatrics, an organization focused on supporting the unique needs of female pediatricians.

Dr. Skinner loves entertaining and spending time in her kitchen. Most idle time is occupied with knitting needles in her hands. Barre classes keep her mind clear and her body strong. She is steadily marking spots off of her to-travel-to list with her husband and favorite person, Matthew. Her young-adult stepson, Kristofer, is working hard to learn the other family business (scale model building).
